Shade styles
Three ways it hangs.
Flat fold
The weave flows from behind the headrail and rests in a crisp flat plane when fully lowered. Lift cords are at the front for easy access, with a matching valance across the hardware.
Hobbled
A cascading fold that holds its shape at any height, not just when raised. Lift cords at the front, and the valance is optional.
Every style has a bottom bar finished in the matching weave.
Control options
Four core operating systems, with options for each.
Cordless
No cords on the shade at all. The shade is drawn down by the hem bar. The simplest answer where child safety matters.
Continuous cord loop
A beaded chain drive with a mounted tension device. On heavier and larger shades a spring assist mechanism is added to keep the operation smooth. Available in white, beige, gray, black, brown and steel.
Wand
Motorized operation from a wand at the side of the shade, with speed regulation and a preferred stop position. Rechargeable, and color coordinated to your shade.
Motorized
Wireless rechargeable, ultra quiet, A/C and low voltage DC motors for any situation. Operated by remote, wall switch, smart hub through a phone app, or smart home touch pads.

Endurance
Our gold-standard wireless motor. A melting pot of top-brand motor components for smooth operation, extended battery life and durability.
Stealth
A true Frankenstein of the top-tier motor world. Extended tube length, soft rubber drive and a smooth high quality crown offer utter silence, for clients who want to hear a pin drop.
Pulse
A/C line voltage for plug and play, and D/C low voltage for high end pre-wire specs. Mobile battery adapters are available with our quick connect system at the window, so the shades still operate if the house loses power.
Solar panel
Keeps a motorized shade charged without running power to the window. Pairs with the rechargeable motors, and suits high or hard to reach windows.
Smart control
Works with the systems clients already have.
Add a hub and the shades join the house network, with app control and scheduling. Compatible with Amazon Alexa, Google Home, Apple HomeKit, Samsung SmartThings, IFTTT, Control4 and RTI.
Every motorized collection uses compatible motor systems, so a whole house runs from one remote or hub type for whatever range of products you specify.
Top down bottom up
Light from the top, privacy at the bottom.
A top down bottom up shade moves from both ends. Drop it from the top and daylight comes in over the top of the shade while the lower half of the window stays covered, so a room at street level keeps its privacy without going dark.
Raise it from the bottom in the usual way and the window clears completely. Best paired with a valance, which hides the extra hardware at the head and finishes the top edge.
Available on Auralux, Solis and NovaCell. On Solis it cannot be combined with a movable liner, which needs the same headrail space.
Liners
The liner decides what the shade does.
A weave on its own is decorative. The liner is what turns it into a functional window covering, and it is the single biggest decision on a Solis quote.
No liner
Roughly 50% see-through. The weave reads at its most natural, with light through the gaps and an open texture.
Light filtering liner
Roughly 70% shading. Softens the light and lifts privacy while keeping the character of the weave on the face.
Blackout liner
Full blackout behind the weave, for bedrooms and media rooms.
Attached liner
The backing is permanently integrated behind the weave for a clean, finished look and a seamless layered appearance from inside.
Movable liner
Also called a dual or twin system: two independent layers, each with its own control, so the weave and the liner move separately. The headrail is deeper to house both, and this cannot be combined with top down bottom up.
When a liner is selected, both the shade and the valance come with it. Liner colors run from white through camel and taupe to black.
Finishing options
Valance and edge binding.
Valance
Hides the mechanical components so the eye runs from weave to architecture uninterrupted. Standard height follows the shade: 6" up to 59", 8" to 86 5/8", and 12" beyond that. Custom heights are available, as is a valance on its own to finish existing shades. Returns come free on request, in short or full depth.
Edge binding
A band roughly 1/2" wide down the face edges, both a finish and a practical detail on loose natural weaves. Available on every woven material. Some patterns are noted as recommended or required for binding in the materials table, so check before quoting.
Worth knowing
Four things to check before you quote.
Not for wet rooms
Natural fibers are not suited to high humidity. Prolonged moisture can warp or distort a shade, so keep them out of bathrooms and steam rooms.
Size limits
Maximum width is 96" across every system. Maximum height is 106" cordless and 118" on clutch, wand and motorized. Two shades on one headrail run to 118" total, and a common valance to 96".
Stacking height
A raised shade stacks between 6 11/16" and 9 3/16" depending on drop, gaining about 1/4" for every 10" of height. Worth allowing for on a window where the view matters.
Natural variation
Hue, texture and weave vary between pieces, and the fibers develop a patina over time. That is the material behaving as it should, not a defect, and it is worth setting that expectation with a client up front.
Inside mounts need a minimum 1 5/8" frame depth, or 2 5/8" for a flush fit, and 1/4" is deducted from the width at the factory.
Warranty
Limited lifetime on the shade, five years on the motors.
Woven wood shades carry a limited lifetime warranty against defects in materials and workmanship, provided the manufacturer's limitations and specifications have been followed. Motors, controls and accessories are covered separately for five years from purchase. The warranty is for the original purchaser and needs proof of purchase; it does not cover removal or installation costs, normal wear, misuse, commercial use or moisture damage.
